“ 5 stars - A Memorable Birthday Dinner for Mom We came to Alvin Garden on a Thursday evening to celebrate my mom’s birthday — and what an unforgettable meal it was! From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warm service and an inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The boiled fish in chili oil (水煮鱼) was perfectly executed — rich, spicy, aromatic, and full of flavor. The tomato and egg vermicelli soup (番茄鸡蛋米线) was light and comforting, reminding us of home-cooked meals. And the stir-fried cabbage with chili (干锅手撕包菜) was simple yet incredibly tasty with a delightful wok hei. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and generously portioned. My mom was so happy — she said it was one of the most satisfying birthday dinners she’s had in a long time. Thank you to the staff for making this evening special! “ OH MY- Delicious Hunan Chinese food! LOVE THIS recently discovered restaurant here on Imperial St!! We have never had "HUNAN cuisine" style before. Most of all others-but THIS is VERY fresh/ healthy tasting We have had several excellent dishes to try. We had a darker DELICIOUS broth wonton soup like I've never seen before- amazing - and the flavour of their wonton dumplings is just incredible! We wanted MORE and have NEVER in all our years had wonton dumplings tasting like their's do !! We had ginger, chicken, and green onion soup-AMAZING broth AGAIN! Refreshing-TRULY- and, it left us ALL wanting it AGAIN! Fabulous shredded pork with Hunan pickles soup-OH MY!!! The broth AGAIN! I CANNOT say enough about this place DEFINITELY coming back for all of this- their chefs, and this Hunan style of food and spicing, etc! We also had their wonderful smoked pork house rice, sour shredded potatoes and peppers, spicy cabbage, green onion pancakes, beef broccoli, cold dish- spicy black fungus with parsley, etc. ( "MILD" is fairly HOT here-so- ask for "BABY heat??" PLEASE try for yourself! You WON'T likely be disappointed! They have delivery, it IS very clean, SO many menu choices, the servers are nice and prices are very fair and comparable. They have dim sum items as well! ”

“ Found this gem of a restaurant a couple of days ago and we’re already back for a second round! The dishes here are not overly spicy as I expected, and we were able to enjoy each dish in its own glory without being overly spiced out. The portions are generous, and everything was super delicious. I also highly recommend dining in as a lot of the dishes are best enjoyed right off the wok. Definitely a place I will revisit in the future! ”

“ I always drove by this place and finally came here for lunch! Food: 5/5 - flavourful and has good portions. You can choose how spicy you want. I loved the beef and broccoli with loads of meat. Soup comes with the lunch special. The pan fried dumplings are 4/5. The fried yogurt dough twist was sweet on the inside. Note: if you do a Instagram or Google review, the dough twist is 1. Why not? Service: 5/5 server was friendly Atmosphere: 5/5 place was clean and tidy I’ll be back for another meal. If you love Asian food with decent portions at a good value this is the place to go! ”
